Overview
Amador Student SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) is a student-led organization that promotes positive change through action and dialogue. We aim to build the capacity for a more equitable curriculum, campus, and community. By creating an accepting community, we drive personal, organizational, and societal change towards greater equity and diversity.
SEED students recognize that curriculum, teaching methods, and classroom practices that are gender fair, multiculturally equitable, socioeconomically aware, and globally informed create the most effective learning environments for all students. Through our work, we strive to promote acceptance in our schools and community and turn oppression and privilege into agency and action. Our members use their experiences and those of their peers to broaden perspectives on school curriculum and make our community more inclusive so that the voices of all students are valued. We take a systemic approach to look at equity and diversity, and we have ongoing constructive conversations about issues that affect students and their education to ultimately meet the needs of all learners.
